I was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in September, 1958. Raised in Chicago, Illinois, while growing up on the Northside of Chicago, I was musically influenced by Eddie Higgins, Ramsey Lewis, Dizzy Gillespie, John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters. I discovered the glory of Janis Joplin, Carole King, Sarah Vaughan and Ella Fitzgerald - Man, could those women SING! The most important pieces of musical genius in my life are "Natural Woman", "Canon in D", "Adagio for Strings" and of course, the "Tonight Quintet" from West Side Story (Maria, Tony, Anita, Jets & Sharks)...which has to be, hands down, the most intense music I've ever heard - then or since! Maybe not top 10 pop, but knock ya on your @ss music, just the same... Oh, to cause chills like that in another person, what a dream.

I fronted the bands of "Cash Money" and "The Haymarket Riot" in the late '70's-early '80's before relocating to The Bay Area. Disco may be dead, but it gave me my start! After a few failed attempts at starting new bands in San Jose, I've finally found my roots - where I belong.

I'm happily married to Nick, the man who supports my every desire and was the recipient of a love song on our wedding day, being a mommy to a flock of birds, working full-time as an "executive daycare provider", stirring up trouble in editorial pages and giving to charity, as often as possible.

Singing is never an option - it enhances my life.
